I wish, I wish, I wish I had some chocolate.

Actually, I wish, I wish, I wish I had Julia Robert's laugh. My Grandma and I went to see Eat, Pray, Love (lovely movie, by the way) yesterday, and I've decided that Mrs. Robert's laugh sounds like soft tinkle lights at a bubbly sunset.

This post is supposed to be about music though, not soft tinkle lights at bubbly sunsets. So music you shall have.

When I am having a bad day, I listen to this (Body in a Box- City and Colour):

Generally, anything by City and Colour does wonders for those fall-apart thoughts.

Warm summer days that make me want to go on a hike or sit and cuddle at a park, require this song (Bang Bang- Dispatch):

Some days I feel simple. On those days I listen to this (Sentimental Heart- She&Him):

Occasionally, I feel disoriented. This usually helps me find my bearings (Lake Michigan- Rogue Wave):

Thinking makes me think of these kinds of songs (Ding Dong- Nellie Mckay):

If you have some time, you should go through all of Nellie's songs and try to pick out the political or ethical issues she is singing about. Makes for an interesting night.

Other moods and other bands/artists:
Inspired- Pat Benatar
Calmed- Iron and Wine
Tricky- Coheed and Cambria
Functional- The Cranberries
Weird- The White Stripes
Retro- Styx
Modern- Regina Spektor
Slow- Josh Garrels
Cute- Bon Iver
Classic- Ben Harper

There are oh so many more I could list. I sure love me some tunes.

Vacayyy.

So I went on a most magnificent adventure. To New York City. So, so, so fabulous. I thought maybe it wasn't as awesome as the movies make it out to be but it turns out they weren't lying.

Now I want to move there. The cheapest rent I could find was for about $1,000 a month for a 600 sq ft apartment in Manhattan. That's okay though, because someday I'm going to be super rich and wear nothing but Tiffany's and I'll be able to afford such a delightful, tiny apartment.

I'd need a roommate. Or two. Or three.

Here's a little peek at the places I went and the people I saw:

Parellel Parking: We must, we must, we must increase our bust. The bigger the better, the tighter the sweater, we must increase our bust. I have no idea why parallel parking makes me think of this saying, it just does.

Tupac: Despite what you have heard, he is not dead. I saw him a grand total of 7 times (if you know his story, the number 7 is significant... creepy huh). I saw Jay-Z 3 times and Lil' Wayne twice.

I did not see Eminem... not many pale faces back east...

New Jersey: Where the accents are almost as thick as the uni brows. (Shout out to Peter, my model, who let me take his picture in exchange for my number)

Tune in next time. Literally.

I've decided.

My blog will be much more interesting to read when I go back to school. Because right now, this is my life:

Are you dating anyone? Nope. Unfortunately, no prospects either.

Are you working? Yes. I work about 45 hours per pay period at Forever 21 where the highlight of my week is getting hit on my lesbians.

Do you have any friends? Yes, but only the ones I have mooched off my brother.

What does your wardrobe look like? Empty, because I took loads and loads to the D.I. and now my closet consists of worn out clothes from 9th grade (because they're the only ones that fit) and gayspice shade shirts.

How is your shoe collection? Not. Growing.

Do you have any money? Not a penny, I am a poor college student who loves Dave Ramsey.

Is your hair growing? No :(

When I go back to school, I will have zillions of good guys to shamelessly check out (though, never actually talk to), I will also have an awesome job, most of my friends will be there, my wardrobe will quadruple (thanks to said friends), my shoe collection will expand thanks to all my cute winter boots, I will still have no money (but it won't matter because I can date and eat for free at least 3 nights a week), my hair will grow AND everybody else will be as non-tan as I am.

Ringtones.

Ringtones are t-t-t-tricky business.

It all comes down to what song I want to listen to the first 3 seconds of a hundred times a day.

I think my computer has a program on it that lets me make up my own ringtones and then download them to my phone. This would be great.... if I knew how to work my computer. I admit it. I'm one of THOSE people. Those people, meaning the ones that buy cool stuff but don't actually know why it's so cool. Anywho, basically I need a new ringtone because my Metric one is getting old. I think I've had it for 2 months.

And I can only listen to a song so many times before it makes me want to vomit (i.e. anything from Incubus, Gavin DeGraw, or the stupid 'I believe I can fly' song).

Right now, I'm feelin' Shwayze. I'll keep you posted. Ideas are welcomed.

Just say no!

Annoying pet peeve #97- When people use leftover cottage cheese and yogurt containers as tupperware. Nobody can see what's in them and things get wasted because the container is misleading.

Annoying pet peeve #98- When people are dishing themselves brownies or cake and refuse to take the corner piece and it becomes isolated in the pan. Come on! That's the best part!

I know what you're thinking...

Yum.

His name is Matthew Bomer and he plays an ex con on the show White Collar. He's my new 'type'.
